Academy Operations Director/Educator
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the barber school, ensuring smooth functioning of classes and facilities.
- Manage staff, including instructors and administrative personnel.
- Ensure the school complies with licensing, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Develop and implement school policies, curriculum, and student services.
- Handle budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation.
- Monitor student progress, address concerns, and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Teach and train students in barbering techniques, including cutting, styling, shaving, and other grooming services required for state board.
- Develop lesson plans and deliver hands-on training in accordance with the school's curriculum.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in the barbering industry – participate in ongoing training and education.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Barbering license required.
- Experience:
- 2-3 years of administrative or leadership experience in the barbering or cosmetology industry.
- 2-3 years of practical experience in the barbering or cosmetology industry.
- At least 1-2 years of teaching or tutoring experience.
- Familiarity of barber curriculum development.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and schedules.
- Ability to develop and deliver both theoretical and practical training in an understandable way.
- Ability to ensure compliance and maintain accurate records for audits.
- Problem solving skills; ability to address student and staff issues.
- Decision making skills that align with the schools core values and mission.
